My Easter Hunt

For Easter I went in search of some flowers. Unfortunately my yard is definitely lacking in color this Easter, so I went on my own personal Easter hunt. Buried beneath brown leaves, peeking out of still tightly closed buds, and high up in the trees, I was able to find a few to brighten my Easter day and give me hope! Very symbolic of Easter. "Seek and ye shall find.." A poignant reminder of the hope that the Savior brings to my own life.

The Kids Easter Hunt

We have designated Jarom as the official Egg hider, a role that he takes very seriously. Unfortunately that leads to some grumpy kids when they can't find the eggs. Eventually I have to talk Jarom into giving some hints, and then some more hints that aren't so vague, until all of the eggs are found. Since we use really eggs, this is very important! One unfound egg now leads to something very stinky later! My favorite is the fact that they look so adorable in their pajamas and pokey outy hair! (how do you like that word!)

Happy Easter Everyone!

Conference Weekend

I love Conference weekend!! Mellow and relaxing and inspirational! As long as I've stocked up on a variety of little candy pieces for the traditional BINGO, we do okay! This year we actually have enough seating in our Family Room for everyone to have their own seat without too much "He's/She's touching me" Mostly I just like to sit back and absorb! Between sessions on Sunday, we decided to take a little outing to our own almost completed Oquirrh Mountain temple to check out the progress. It was finally a beautiful day!!!

"Great"

We are trying to reestablish our routine of family scripture reading and prayers. Tuesday and Wednesday went pretty well, but this morning... not quite as smooth. I was feeling a little grouchy during the reading and then it was Spencer's turn to say the prayer. As he opened he used the words "Our dear great Heavenly Father..." His words kind of stopped me in my tracks. I have to admit I didn't really pay attention to the rest of his prayer, I was struck with the reminder of how great our Father in Heaven really is. I need to spend a least a little time each day remembering how much I have been blessed with and how much He loves me and what an amazing world we live in! Thanks Spencer, for the great reminder!

"Almost" teen communication skills

Just a random thought... How come my almost teenage boy can only respond to me in jokes and grunts? Jokes if he's happy and grunts if he's not... Have we lost the abilty to communicate in a normal fashion??? Am I not a communication "expert"? What does it say about me when my children have abnormal communcation skills? When I ask a question and he responds with "Beans!" do I interpret that as positive or negative? just wondering

Do you have the same Tooth Fairy we have???

Our Tooth Fairy is a little Flaky!!!
She tends to forget a lot - and then she comes at weird times, or leaves the money in weird places. Unfortunately it sometimes makes for very distressed little girls in the morning. She always seems to make it right eventually, but sheesh!! What a Flake! Do you have the same Tooth Fairy we have???

Visiting a friend...

I am always full of good intentions. I have a good friend that for weeks, if not months we've been doing the "we should get together and visit thing..." I've missed talking with her and just finding out how she's doing. Last night my oldest was headed to her house ( to see her husband) and I just invited myself along. We spent almost two hours just hanging out and chatting and I probably kept her from everything she had to do, but I am SOO glad that I just went with my instinct (or listened to the spirit) and followed through. Something I definitely need to do more often.
